The protection of your personal data is important to us. Your personal data is used only within statutory data protection regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act. Below is information about the nature, scope and purpose of the personal data this store collects, and your rights regarding it. This notice can be accessed at any time at https://store.surgeonslab.com/privacy.
When you visit this store, our server automatically logs standard browser/connection data: date and time of access, the page that referred you here, the page requested, amount of data transferred, browser type and version, operating system, and IP address. This is collected to operate and secure the website (legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not run third-party advertising or audience-measurement tracking (e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising cookies) on this store.
Product pages may embed a YouTube video player. When you play one, a connection is made to YouTube (Google LLC) and, according to YouTube, data is only sent to YouTube's servers once you actively start the video. See Google's privacy policy for details on how YouTube handles that data.
To process an order or quote request, we collect the contact and shipping details you provide at checkout: name, organization, email, phone number, and address. For priced "Order Now" purchases, payment is handled directly by our payment processor, Stripe — we never see or store your card number. If you upload a scan or file for a patient-specific model, it is used solely to produce that order and is not shared beyond our production team.
Legal basis: performance of the contract you are entering into with us (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in processing and fulfilling the order (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Your order details may also be recorded in our CRM so our team can follow up on your request.
If you submit the catalog's "Request a Custom Model" form or otherwise contact us, we collect what you provide: name, organization, email, phone number, and your message/specification. We also use your approximate location (city/region/country, derived from your IP address — never street-level) to prefill the form, which you can always edit. This data is used to respond to your inquiry and is recorded in our CRM for follow-up.
Legal basis: your consent in submitting the form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
There is no legal or statutory obligation to provide any of the personal data described above. Providing it is necessary, however, to place an order, request a quote, or have a custom-model inquiry answered — without it, we cannot provide the requested product or response. There is no automated decision-making, including profiling, under Art. 22 GDPR.
We share personal data only with the service providers who help us run this store, and only to the extent needed for that service:
We may also disclose personal data where required by law, court order, or to a competent public authority. We do not sell personal data, and we do not run third-party advertising networks on this store.
Some of the recipients above are located outside your country, including in the United States. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on the recipient's own compliance obligations, contractual safeguards, or an applicable adequacy framework.
Order and quote records are retained for as long as needed to fulfil the order and meet our legal and accounting obligations (commercial/tax records are typically kept for six to ten years, depending on jurisdiction). Custom-model inquiries and general contact submissions are retained for as long as needed to respond to and follow up on the request. IP-derived location data used for form prefill is not separately retained beyond the submission it was used for.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. Exercising these rights is free of charge.
California residents: you may contact us to ask whether and how we share your personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
